Summertime, Summertime, Sum Sum Summertime!

This year's Summer Solstice truly heralded the heat of the season!  It really is Summer!
What a time of awakening... to the energy of joy, passion, creativity and the light of who we really are!

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. 
I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. 
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other doesn't make any sense."  - Rumi

As I've listened to the teachings of the many spiritual traditions, I've longed for the experience of enlightenment - to who I really am - to why we're here - to "what IS the meaning and purpose of Life??"
One of the most encouraging things I have heard - and am in the process of learning - is that each moment I can be aware of myself ... of what triggers me ... of what I truly value, in myself and others - I am 'en-light-ened' in that moment of my own issues, complaints, desires and drama. 
I have brought 'light' or awareness to a part of my life that has been unconscious, or in darkness.  I can then step into 100% responsibility for myself and my life and not lay blame or shame on anyone or anything, including me!
As I shine light on the experience, from the inside out, I can better see the lessons, the gifts, the opportunities for stretching myself beyond the borders of who and what I think I am, into who I really am.

So this Summer...practice 'Lighting (or Lightening) Up' yourself!!!
