Tending the Garden of Your
Soul: The Nature of Being (Human)
With our fast paced lives and information overload, there
does not seem to be much time for tending our deep and rich inner lives. Our everyday world emphasizes and values the
“doing” part of our nature. We have
forgotten that we are “human beings,” not “human doings” ~ we have even
forgotten how to deeply rest. We will
pause in the busy-ness of life to take a deeper look into what lies beyond,
within and around us that influences our lives including the spiritual and
soulful aspects of the human experience.
This experiential six-week course will lay the groundwork for the
journey inward. We will explore, learn,
and practice methods that create a bridge between the inner and the outer
expressions of our being ~ meditation, imagination, dreams, creative
expression, visualization, and imagery using our every day lives as the
inspiration. (Six Sessions)
When most people think about meditation, they see someone in a gumby position, ohming. This image is certainly an aspect of meditation and there is so much more. Incorporating mindfulness and meditation into our every day lives has multiple benefits that science and the medical profession are beginning to take seriously ~ even prescribing these practices as “good medicine.” This course will include instruction and practice of techniques as well as teaching of the background and principles of why and how mindfulness and meditation work. (Three Sessions)
In this course we will continue to explore the realms and practices of meditation and mindfulness. (Prerequisite: Mindfulness & Meditation I) (Four Sessions)
(No class on 11/16)
